Digitalites Participate in Mass Donation Drive for Manavya - 2019

"We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give." With this thought on our minds, we had organized a mass Donation Drive at T/DG on January 2019 for the NGO "Manavya" in Pune on the occasion of New Year. What better way to start the New Year than this!!

Manavya provides residential care and rehabilitation for HIV/AIDS affected destitute and orphaned children and women. Manavya (Humanity in Marathi) is among the few pioneering Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in India, to understand the ramifications of HIV/AIDS outburst in the country and to take necessary steps to rehabilitate the innocent children and women affected by this dreaded disease.

To fulfill all the requirements of these children and women, Manavya started Gokul, a home for HIV+ children, which offers a safe shelter, along with educational and vocational opportunities, and nutritional diet and medical treatment and assistance (ART) for all children. Gokul is situated in Bhugaon, very close to Pune city. Currently, they have 47 children up to age of 18 years. You can learn more about the NGO Manavya's by visiting their website; https://manavya.org/

We received overwhelming response from the Digitalites, who donated generously and the cartons kept for donations were filled with toys, books, clothes, stationery, blankets and other random stuff for small children.

The caretakers from Manavya communicated that they had a requirement for blankets and bedsheets in the institute along with toys. So we utilized the cash donations we had received to buy new toys for them, such as badminton set, Cricket set, footballs, bowing set, skipping ropes etc.

Our team contributed to buy new stationery, like crayons and sketch-pens, for all the children and visited Manavya on 21st Jan this year to handover all the donations. We were glad to see smiles on the children's faces. All the children were not available as their classes were going on, but we loved spending time with them. The children were really excited to receive and open new toys and play with them.

The caretakers helped us in understanding the activities of the institute in detail.

They also have in-house medical facilities for the children. We strongly recommend that you visit Manavya at least once, because the experience of visiting Manavya will prove be a memorable one for you, just like it has been for us.

'Thank you' is too small a word to express the gratitude to all the donors who made this donation drive successful. We thank the Admin Team for their assistance and also the Management for their continuous support and encouragement.

What are your thoughts? We want to hear from you!
